Parish education messages

Participating parishes use OrthoLearn to send requested class invitations, class reminders, schedule changes or cancellations, and lesson-release notices. Messages identify the sending parish and may include links to enrollment, schedules, or lessons. This program is for education communications, not advertising or fundraising.

Choosing to receive texts

For recurring updates, sign in to OrthoLearn, open My Calendar, and use Text message preferences. Enter your mobile number, select the types of updates you want, actively check the consent box, and save. The consent checkbox is not preselected. Providing a phone number alone does not subscribe you.

Staff may send a single invitation only after recording the recipient’s permission for that invitation. Receiving an invitation does not subscribe you to recurring texts. Texting is optional and is not a condition of enrollment or access to classes. Provide only a number you are authorized to use, and update your preferences if your number changes.

Frequency and charges

Message frequency varies based on your class schedule, lesson releases, schedule changes, and selected preferences. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your mobile carrier for details about your plan. Delivery depends on carrier and network availability; messages may be delayed or undelivered. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Stopping and restarting

Reply STOP to unsubscribe from the parish’s text messaging program. You may receive a final opt-out confirmation. You can also turn off both notification types and save your preferences in My Calendar.

After using STOP, reply START to unblock your number, then return to OrthoLearn and explicitly enable your chosen notifications. START alone does not enroll you in recurring class updates.
